OUR JOURNEY
Since 2008 we have been converting sinners to Christ, growing disciples, and sending them out to impact the community. We welcome people from all walks of life—meeting them where they are and helping them improve their lives.
We are affiliated with the Progressive National Baptist Convention (PNBC) that has churches throughout the United States and abroad.

OUR HISTORY
Pastor Benjamin Myers

Destiny Baptist Church was founded and incorporated in 2008. The first worship service was held Sunday, January 11, 2009, in Davis Hall on the campus of the United Church of Christ in Spring Hill, Florida.
Rev. Benjamin A. Myers was called to be the pastor. The church conducted Sunday School; Sunday Worship Service; and held Bible Study and Prayer Service weekly. Men, Women and Widows Fellowships were started, along with a Bread Ministry.
The church is affiliated with The Progressive National Baptist Convention.
Pastor Myers served the church three years. Under his leadership the spiritual growth of members flourished and a sound fiscal foundation was laid. Pastor and Mrs. Myers relocated to North Carolina to be closer to family.

OUR MISSION
WIN people to Jesus Christ, TRAIN believers to become disciples, and SEND disciples out to impact the community.
The mission of Destiny Baptist Church is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the unsaved and encourage church fellowship. Further we admonish individuals who have strayed from the teachings of Jesus Christ to return and renew their faith. Through Christian Education, we continually teach our members about Christ to help them grow spiritually and economically and become effective change agents for God in the community.
OUR VISION
To help people enjoy life through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
OUR BELIEFS
That God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1: 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2 That Man, made in the spiritual image of God, was created to exist forever. He will exist separated from God by sin, in Hell, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Isaiah 59:1, 2; Romans 3:23 That Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth and offered himself as a sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on the cross. He demonstrated His power by arising from the dead after three days. He ascended to heaven's glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Romans 1:3, 4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14, 15; Titus 2:13 That Salvation is a gift from God to man. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. That salvation is free--given to us by grace and the power of God, not by the works of the Christian. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 1:12; 14:6; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1 That the Holy Spirit lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He gives the Christian power for living and understanding of spiritual truth and guides him in doing what is right. 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; 14:16, 17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25 The Bible is God's word to all men. It was written by men and inspired by God. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160; Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5
OUR ORDINACES
Baptism - By being baptized, we show the world that we have understanding and belief in Jesus Christ.
Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:41; Ephesians 2: 8-9; Matthew 28:19-20
Communion or the Lord's Supper - We do this to obey a mandate given us by Jesus Christ. It is a symbol of Christ's broken body and shed blood for our sins. It is a testament of a believer's faith in the atoning work.
Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
OUR MINISTRIES
Women's Ministry
This ministry is led by Sister Renelda Colvard who came to us from Mississippi. She brings to the ministry her love for teaching and the love of Christ--teaching women the Word of God and how it pertains to us in the world today. We meet the 2nd Saturday of the month at 11 AM; everyone is welcomed.
Christian Education Ministry
We teach students (children and adults) how to study the Bible; pray; grow spiritually; and serve and witness for Christ. Sunday school meets every Sunday at 8:30 AM.
Mid Week Service-Bible study is every Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Bible study is followed by spirited singing and mini-sermons from the pastor and guest ministers.
Deacon Ministry
Ordained men lead in carrying out the church’s ordinances, keeping peace in the church, spreading the gospel, and administering to needs of the suffering. They serve on the church’s joint board helping to carry out the business of the church.
Their responsibilities include communion; benevolence; prayer; Bible teaching; and visiting and administering to the sick and needy.
The “Voices for Christ Outreach Ministry” (VFCOM) is an evangelism ministry that spun off from our Thursday Bible Study class. This ministry visits members who are ill; and provides prayer, scripture reading, and teaching of God’s Word to individuals in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. The ministry also challenges others in spiritual growth through sharing church materials and inviting others to church. Qualified members provide counseling and mentoring to youth.
Music Ministry
The “Voices of Destiny”, our choir, enhances the worship service through traditional and contemporary music. The choir rehearses most Saturdays at 11 AM. Our Minister of Music is a talented and experienced pianist, organist, keyboardist, song writer and vocalist.
All voices are welcome!
Usher Board Ministry
Ushers make every effort to make everyone feel welcome. Working with the Church Clerk, they hand out the Sunday Worship Service Program. They assure the comfort of members and visitors, as well as, give directions, as needed. They also collect tithes and offerings; and help with holy communion.
